This website is operated by Emma L Kurran, trading as Still Growing Botanical Studio (illustration services) and Emma L Kurran (speaking and talks).
We are the data controller for the personal information collected through this website. This means we are responsible for deciding how and why your information is used.

What Information We Collect, and Why
1. Commission and Speaking Enquiries (Contact Form)
When you use the contact form on this website, we collect:
Your name
Your email address
The contents of your message
Why: So that we can respond to your enquiry.
Lawful basis: Legitimate interests. It is in both your interest and ours to be able to communicate about a potential commission or booking. We only use this information to respond to your message and will not add you to any mailing list as a result of your contacting us.
How long we keep it: We keep contact form enquiries for up to two years. If we enter into a commission agreement with you, we will keep relevant correspondence for up to six years in line with standard contractual record-keeping practice.
2. Website Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. This means that when you visit, certain information is collected automatically, including:
Your approximate location (country or region level, derived from your IP address)
The type of device and browser you are using
Which pages you visited and in what order
How long you spent on the site
Where you came from (for example, a search engine or a social media link)
Your full IP address is not stored by Google Analytics.
Why: To understand which content is useful to visitors so we can improve the website.
Lawful basis: Consent. We will ask for your permission via a cookie consent banner before Google Analytics is activated. If you decline, no analytics data will be collected about your visit.
How long we keep it: Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months, after which it is automatically deleted.
3. Newsletter (Coming Soon)
We intend to offer an email newsletter in the future. When we do, we will collect:
Your email address
Your name (if you choose to provide it)
Why: To send you the newsletter you have signed up for.
Lawful basis: Consent. You will only receive the newsletter if you actively sign up for it. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email we send. Unsubscribing will not affect anything else.
How long we keep it: We will hold your details for as long as you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we will delete your information within a reasonable time.
4. Cookies
This website uses cookies. A cookie is a small file placed on your device that helps the website function or helps us understand how the site is used.
